Love this place. One of the only “lakes” in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Very peaceful. Paddle boat rentals are great. Lots of parking, trails are great along the water and there is plenty to explore. Will say that the picnic areas are tough for those with small kids, all the tables near the water are on a slope.

Beautiful, laid back spot with BBQ grills, paddleboats, canoes and more! We paid $15 for two hours. We took a picnic and paddled out to the island. Met some friendly ducks along the way!

What a beautiful lake which is the water source for Santa Cruz. It has many trails, picnic tables with some parking. Drive to this spot requires bit of caution due to narrow road. There are boats for rental. Weekends could be busy, one must plan ahead. Lovely place to unwind yet get some good workout with trails etc.

A hidden gem and 99% full currently. Good news since the reservoir provides water to Santa Cruz County. Go check it out while it lasts. High water or low, always a good time for a picnic or paddle. Great for a BBQ or birthday party. Boat rentals and ice cream. What more do you need? Hiking trails and fishing too! $8 entrance fee per vehicle. Parking plentiful (including disabled) just not always up close.

Love this place. It is very close to Scott Valley. It is a nice place for hiking and fishing. Sometimes, it has free boat rides. You can also rent a boat. You can rent the one with an electric motor or you row. It is a good place to visit with family and fishing. Parking could be challenging. Not many parking spaces. Better to arrive early.

Awesome spot to hike around and rent paddle boats in the lake. There’s a little snack bar that had some candy, chips, granola, fruit, soda and ice cream. A lot more to choose from than I expected but heavy on sugar. There’s a lot of family friendly picnic areas with bbq grills near the water and places to fish, both on land and from boats.

Beautiful lake with boat rentals available and easily accessible shore fishing spots with easy to catch bluegill for kids. They offer 2 seat kayaks, ~5 seat aluminum row boats, and 2 seat paddle boats for $7.50 an hour or an electric aluminum boat for $15 an hour, but personally I'm not a big fan of the reservation system. They only allow reservation of 2 out of their 12 electric boats, the other 10 are first come first serve, but usually on the weekends you have to get in line by 6:45AM to get a boat. For people planning a trip with others that aren't so keen on getting up early it makes it impossible to get an electric boat unless you reserve far in advance.

Amazing lake in the Santa Cruz mountains. Good place for a hike, fishing off the shore or renting a boat. Be sure to get here early if you don't want to walk far and if you want to get a boat.
